Welcome to MWVA Young Voices, led by the wonderful Anna Banko Szumacher, a choir not only open to our own students, but also to children (8+) from outside the Academy who love singing or would like to discover it!

The aim of this choir is to bring children together through music, helping them to know one another beyond concerts, lessons, or individual performances. It will offer them a space to build friendships, develop confidence, learn how to work as part of a group, and experience the joy of singing together.

This choir would be open to all children — including those who have never had formal musical or singing experience before. The most important thing would not be perfection, but participation, openness, and the willingness to sing, listen, and grow together.

Through group singing, children can learn so much more than music. They learn teamwork, responsibility, communication, confidence, patience, and respect for others. They also experience the powerful feeling of being part of something bigger than themselves.

Our vision is to build a strong musical community within the Academy, while also welcoming children from the wider community who share a love of singing. This could become a beautiful space where young voices meet, friendships grow, and music becomes a way of connecting people.

If we believe that singing can change the world, even in small ways, then this choir can be our way of spreading that message — one song, one rehearsal, and one child at a time!
