Children’s Training Choir

Welcome to Little Voices with Anna, led by the wonderful Anna Banko Szumacher. This childrens singing group welcomes children aged 6-8 from both within and outside the Academy who want to discover singing!!

The aim of this Kids choir is to bring younger children together through music, to help them explore their voices and gain confidence. It will also develops musicianship and helps them get to know one another beyond concerts, lessons, or individual performances.

It will offer them a space to build friendships, develop confidence, learn how to work as part of a group, and experience the joy of singing together.

About the programme

This Kids choir would be open to all children. This includes those who have never had formal musical experience. The most important thing would not be perfection, but participation. It would emphasise openness, listening, and growing together.

Through group singing, children can learn so much more than music in a Kids choir setting. They learn teamwork, responsibility, communication, confidence, patience, and respect for others. They also experience the powerful feeling of belonging to something bigger than themselves.

Our vision is to build a strong musical community within the Academy, while also welcoming children from the wider community who share a love of singing. This could become a beautiful space where young voices meet, friendships grow, and music becomes a way of connecting people.

If we believe that singing can change the world, even in small ways, then this choir can be our way of spreading that message — one song, one rehearsal, and one child at a time!
